Jewelry has been part of the human attire forever. However, in each historical period and, at times, in each geographical area , jewelry featured its own specific characteristics influenced by its society. In that sense, jewelry presents a striking similarity to many aspects of clothing. Just as men and women dress up in costumes  they also also dress with jewels. In addition , like clothing, jewelry is are characterized by continuous formal and symbolic transformation.
