With Kaleidoscope – Couture by Christian Lacroix, a new heading programming, begins at MUDE – Museu do Design e da Moda, Coleção Francisco Capelo. It is our aim to provide to all visitors a better understanding of the particular, closed and exquisite universe of Couture, featuring the artists represented in the MUDE collection.
Each show is dedicated to a particular author, such as Madame Grès, Christian Dior, Balenciaga, Jean Paul Gaultier or John Galliano.
The first author selected is Christian Lacroix, recognized artist for his unlimited capacity to reinvent models, combine elements or unexpected materials and explore, in an extraordinary way, the most diverse historical and cultural references. The sixteen Couture models of different collections between 1989 and 2000 specify the feature that makes him unique. Moreover, three of the models are displayed for the very first time.
