The Costume Colloquium will be back for its 5th edition on November 17 – 20th 2016 at Auditorium al Duomo in Florence.

The international, interdisciplinary and intercultural structure of Costume Colloquium promotes a lively exchange of knowledge on a full range of ideas and interests. The conference topics and themes are appealing to professionals and academics as well as amateurs and students. During the 2016 edition the conference will investigate minimalisms and excesses in the history of costume and fashion, through the dissertation of many topics like excessive styles, exhibitionism and identity, starting from the assuption that clothing is a language, and whether that is the language of excess or minimalism.
